Far faraway at the end of the world live three beautiful sisters, three SIBYLS. Whenever a child is born in the world, they learn about it within three days. They fly to the newborn to entangle the thread of his destiny. They twist and weave a wondrous thread for the child – the thread of Life. The people know that the SIBYLS can easily change their minds, so this is why they leave pleasing offerings for them on the table.
Once, some old women and the mother of a newborn baby had forgotten to set the table for the SIBYLS. And when the SIBYLS arrived and found the table empty, they became so aggravated that they began to bicker among themselves. In their anger they messed up their weaving and all the threads became hopelessly entangled. Eventually, their quarrel became so frenzied that they unintentionally wrapped this chaotic thread around the entire world. And because the thread is invisible to the naked eye some human beings forget that all peoples’ destinies are interwoven. That is why, , even the smallest thing a person does can provoke an enormous reaction elsewhere far away; even after many, many years. Only God knows if someone somewhere could ever succeed in undoing these tangled threads. Maybe one day He will bless a gifted weaver with the divine skill to fashion a beautiful braid from the twisted, ragged threads.
