PILOTS tells the story of an unexpected encounter in the late 1960s between two men – a former Bulgarian ace and an American pilot, once enemies in the sky. Their conversation rekindles memories of youth and war. Through flashbacks, we witness the fate of a handful of young fighter pilots who defended Sofia during the final years of the Kingdom of Bulgaria. Inspired by real events, the film is an epic story of courage, sacrifice, and humanity – of the pilots and the people they loved.
